What does localization by gsm service means?? Please do reply.. ^_^
It’s localisation estimated by your distance to GSM transmitters. It’s not as accurate as GPS, but it makes GPS fix faster.

Some apps can use this to locate you without using GPS, thus saving battery. The precision is far more imprecise than GPS, but it is less costly. There is an app called Llama (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kebab.Llama) that does exactly what I said: it knows where you are by using the GSM location and it does some stuff based on your position (eg it knows when you’re at home and when you’re at work, so you can set it to turn on wifi when you arrive home and to turn it off when you’re at work).
It means network location without GPS….
for battery savings its better to use localisation by GSM service for example a weather app/widget it doesn’t need to be completely accurate

only thing that concerns me is battery life, its pathetic.
I downloaded cpu tuner, and my cpu was at 900 something MHz by default, if you want to save battery download cpu tuner or any app like that one, and put the cpu down a bit. At 800 MHz the rom still works great.
Are you sure its 900 or something and not 800 MHZ .?
The SGA uses a CPU clocked at 800mHz. This ROM had better not overclock my CPU. though that could explain why some people are complaining about battery life.

we are very near to get the stable rom soon from maclaw.. thanks for the good work.. could you please try to make p[ossible of using sd card as internal memory as it is possible with other roms.. internal memory sucks with SGA 🙁

link2sd just will move the apps to sd right??? i want my internal memory to be atleast 300mb so that i can use plenty of apps and no need to clear cache everytime i install a new app

No, just flash the ROM, CWM will clear the Davilk Cache and that’s all. 😉

Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot doesn’t work 🙁
tethering is my main requirement, steps mentioned in FAQ works but only with my laptop and is not detected on my Tab2.
It’s your Tab2 fault, because it doesn’t have Ad-hoc support.
How do apply a live wallpaper. When.I hold.my hand on the homescreen. The menu that shows up doesn’t give me a live wallpaper option only plain staic wallpapers.

AOSP is stock as Google released it. There are no mods like system toggles in the notification drawer, there is no theme chooser. There never will be. If you want those, go back to CM9/10.

I installed 4.0.4 Beta 2. It’s very good but bluetooth activating faster that WI-FI 🙁 but It better that Cyanogen mod 9 :D, thanks you for your great job =D and I wait beta 3 😀 camera working but videorecording don’t work but I stalled my Camera ICS, but It’s force close all time when I click to open the app; photos Are great 😀

No, you can’t do that without bugs
Sometimes the launcher just won’t start anymore and then i have to reboot +filling text on your site is reaally slow and does weird stuff

When I’m using Mobile Data to navigate, I get HTTP STATUS 405 sometimes. Then, I need to turn off and turn it on again to navigate…

I installed beta2 today and i am enjoying it. But i am little troubled, sometimes the notifications does not appear in the status bar. Has anyone else encountered the same problem?? any way thanks to maclaw for this great ROM 🙂
Has happened to me once. A restart fixed it.
Yes I also faced the same error with notification screen. but funny enough, even though the notification (for sms ) was not visible when i tapped on notification pull down, it did open the sms. Also camera is little laggy. But I am totally loving ICS on my two year old ACE 🙂

Anyone know what camera app to use for video recording? There are hardly any camera apps and the ones that exist only take pictures. CameraICS and CameraJB are very buggy and don’t work well…
Perhaps I want to thank the developers for the awesome work! I have tried numerous ROMs and can confirm this one is the smoothest. I would especially emphasize that:
+ deep sleep works perfectly (as a result the battery life is better than on other custom ROMs including any CM7-based)
+ working camera (also in Instagram)
+ working YouTube HD, wohoo!!
+ VERY smooth ROM overall!
I was able to use it on the everyday basis, here are some issues that I have experienced:
– When the memory is getting low the Caller app and the Launcher become really slow and glitchy. The Caller throws the message it cannot call, and the Address Book does not show any contacts. Reboot helps.
– The camera preview doesn’t work in CameraZoom.
– WiFi is turning on waaay longer than on CM7, and causes soft reboots sometimes.
This rom rocks ! Just missing init.d support. Why you don’t add init.d support?
Init.d is there…. as this is rooted rom…. So init.d is there…. for init.d you have to check it via root explorer

usb tethering dosent work. There are bugs in notification drawer. and the camera is sometimes unstable
For the USB tethering, use the CW app, I use it and it’s perfect. 😉

Just pointing a bug I’m having: GPS is giving crazy locations.
Awesome work in this ROM. I’m sure when it became free of the small bugs, it will be the best one around.
very nice job…love it..back to ics from gb..though dislike battery life! but i guess have to lose something to get ics..working beautifully..dont miss video as i use camera still pictures only.a little different than cm9 but wil get used to it..
