Is it cyanogenmod or aosp? Whatever it is it looks wicked but I still think CM10 is just a tiny bit more awesome than Jelly Bean aosp
I like AOSP, is more clean.
AOSP is smoother and much much faster and stable than CM. It’s great that you’re developing on AOSP now!
OMG!!! It work on ACE?
can’t wait this release.
awesome work, you rock…. I need this release too!!!
awesome work… can’t wait for release ..thanks maclaw & marcin…
I am excited since I do not really need CyanogenMod features.
However, some flaws of Android 4.2 have already begun annoying me; I am using CM10.1 now. I am going to ask for several tweaks for little screens like ours. Dear developers, please pay more attention to fonts because small-sized ones are rendered awful. Could you please enlarge the font size of the launcher (both drawer and desktops), Quick Settings panel and the notification drawer (especially the top date line)? This would require shortening lines like ‘BLUETOOTH OFF’ to ‘BT OFF’ and other enhancements but make overall appearance feel better. I also tend to dislike the poor-drawn network icon in status bar, it seems too blurred.
I would like to know the best way of translating Android because the current Ukrainian localization needs serious changes which I can contribute.
please, build your ROM with your style
Nice job guys! any ETA on release?
Please, don’t ask for ETA. Just be patient and thankful for the hard work.
Good work waiting for the release
Wayland next relise use new kernel 3.0.8. This is very good. You used kernel 18.104.22.168 ? maybe you wait his relis with new kernel and used his kernel in your ROM 4.2.1 AOSP?
Seems you’ve already fixed the glitch, we all hope you fix everything soon and that the rom will be fast and stable like AOSP ICS.
Waww…. realy amazing naiseee.
Looks nice , can’t for it !! 🙂
wooow, 4.2… you guys rock!
Take your time to do thing right.
I’m enjoying the ICS AOSP RC2 very much.
Best rom ever I put on my Gio.
Thanks again for leetifying my budget phone.
Good one, but where can I get the sources?
Any ETA on release ?? Still cant wait for it haha
Any info about the release….
Wow you are the man. I can’t wait for this!
I’m checking the page every 15 minutes. I can’t wait for this! It’ll be awesome!
What with ICS? Are you going to finish it?
I don’t care if you finish only JB or ICS, but please try to release a rom that will not be Beta or RC something, for a change…
Thanks for your hard work at any rate!
If you think that it’s so simply to do it, shut up. A lot of things cannot be fixed cause by missing sources from Samsung/hardware producers and by hardware. Other developers calls their releases STABLE only to make people more interested, but in real it isn’t.
Again with the sources eh? You aren’t going to release them -_-
I hope you know that’s a violation of the terms of the GPL and the Android Open Source license. You guys could get in trouble if you don’t release.
No, only kernel is on GPL license. Android isn’t. So why olddroid gave only kernel sources and no one asking them for it?
Maclaw is right you only need to give kernel sources.
Android is Apache License 2.0 found at http://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0 and the Linux kernel is GPL license 2.0 you can find on http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/COPYING. do the homework, Wikipedia is great for simplifying it if you don’t want to read the entire licenses.
Also thanks Maclaw Studio for such a great rom looking forward to 4.2.1.
Please dont forget to make it works with second partition sd card.. because the internal memory on gio is to little.
I had try CM 10.1 jelly bean 4.2.1 but it can’t work with partition card.. i hope it gonna be different. GO go go Maclaw !! 🙂
I’m using cm10.1, and i can use a second partition with a modded version of s2e, but it took me many time on the web to found.
I think i’ll switch to maclaw’s ROM, and i hope an easier way to do that.
Nice gift for us dude, hope when its available, the camera is function at all .. Thank’s for the awesome work 😀
You wouldnt believe How excited i am! 😀
and aosp ics? will you release new versions? i like you aosp and i’m sorry that you leave the project
Of course, we don’t abandon ICS.
Now ICS is good, but JB is better than ICS? I hope so!
No jestem pod wrażeniem! 🙂
Mam nadzieję, że będzie lepsze od wersji OldDroida, która momentami działa jakby chciała, a nie mogła. Liczę na Was! 🙂
it is so.. :Q____
Looks nice. Just hope you add init.d support for jb aosp. 😉 I know you want clean aosp but superuser and busybox are also added also reboot menu… (on ics aosp). Great job
Hello Maclaw, is it possible for you to change the music player into a faster one?
This one is kinda laggy ^^”
It’s only a suggestion 😛
Disable it and download Poweramp. It’s very smooth… and very cool too 🙂
Alright thank you the problem is actually the memory :/
Can it be moved to the SD card?
this 4,0,4 or 4,2,1?
Ani ETA yet ?? :-/
Dude, there won’t be any ETA. It’s generating too much problems. We just will release it, when it’ll be ready.
This is my 200 refresh to this page still awaiting for official release of AOSP JB from Maclaw Studio…
Dude, I’m glad to hear that. Doing our best to make you and other guys happy as soon as possible!
Thank you, greeting from Romanian
I can see I’m not the only Romanian around here 🙂 That’s great!
Reading that made my day,
Glad to see this. Gives me a WOW feling. Will it be smoother on gio then ICS, or is hardware gio to slow for smooth JB?
What about eap sim maclaw?
U can ad or not?
Thx for all bro
Dude , I was using one of your roms sometime back which was Android Jelly Bean based on CM10 . But i really lacked camera and bluetooth . SO i had to go back to stock . Now since you have made really great advancements , I would really like to come back to using your rom . But my question is whether is it worth waiting for your jelly bean release or going ahead with the ICS release ??
Since that “Hello World!” post I’ve been visiting your page every 10 minutes when I was at my computer hoping that I would finally see a post like “AOSP Jelly Bean 4.2.1 Released!” Now I’m getting very, very impatient. So far I’m sick from this waiting 😀 Please, release that ROM as soon as possible. I would like to try it so much! It would give my Gio a new breath.
Did you gona post some changelogs about your progres work with JB AOSP
Ooopppsss….still not releasing :D, I’ll refresh the page 10 minutes again.
Maclaw sir will u try kernel 3 someday?
how can i get this rom??????????
You have to wait for it until released 😀 It’ll be here soon
you must be patient 🙂 they’re working on it! 😀
maybe in download page! Soon
Draga Neon, niciodata nu vor merge bine aceste versiuni si crede-ma ca nu ai nimic in plus, doar un alt look…..
Just a heads up. Wayland and Olddroid have had video recording working for a while now, so it’d be nice if we could get that too. I love your ROM but I would like video recording without having to use videocam illusion and you seem to be just leaving it not working and jumping straight to JB.
I can’t figure out why it doesn’t work on your ROM however. If I use your Camera HAL on Olddroids CM10.1 and reboot, video recording works.
I’m guessing it’s caused by the outputted file type, since Olddroids ROM only records in 240p and exports in something other than MP4.
Their modified camera app (I guest), so they did the same what we had working on last CM10.1, which we had removed after false Whisp blames on our.
The camera app isn’t modified. Camera JB+ and Camera ICS+ from the Play Store record fine on their ROM too. Video recording works in every app I’ve tried, so it’s the HAL.
No, it isn’t HAL. I checked – it’s only that because Google has added their own, open source video libs.
Are you going to use it to make video recording work?
No comment! You’re fantastic! But Camillusion is quite bad 🙂
Greart, congratulations on the good work.
Samsung should sponsor you.
I’m checking for this daily.
The suspense is killing me. Literally.
We’re still alive, but we have school and we doing our best to provide software to you 😉
Great work guys! Cant wait for this one!
Thanks again Maclaw and Marcin your the best 😉
I will come every 30 seconds to check if it was released … my phone is happy with every release
Leaving my reply here also for some encouragement like the users above. Can`t wait for Jelly Bean AOSP , using ICS AOSP right now and it`s the best thing. Good luck.
