Is it cyanogenmod or aosp? Whatever it is it looks wicked but I still think CM10 is just a tiny bit more awesome than Jelly Bean aosp

  • Rax Garfield says:

I am excited since I do not really need CyanogenMod features.

However, some flaws of Android 4.2 have already begun annoying me; I am using CM10.1 now. I am going to ask for several tweaks for little screens like ours. Dear developers, please pay more attention to fonts because small-sized ones are rendered awful. Could you please enlarge the font size of the launcher (both drawer and desktops), Quick Settings panel and the notification drawer (especially the top date line)? This would require shortening lines like ‘BLUETOOTH OFF’ to ‘BT OFF’ and other enhancements but make overall appearance feel better. I also tend to dislike the poor-drawn network icon in status bar, it seems too blurred.

I would like to know the best way of translating Android because the current Ukrainian localization needs serious changes which I can contribute.

Nice job guys! any ETA on release?

  • Good work waiting for the release

  • from russia says:

Wayland next relise use new kernel 3.0.8. This is very good. You used kernel 2.6.37.6 ? maybe you wait his relis with new kernel and used his kernel in your ROM 4.2.1 AOSP?

  • thezelmusic says:

Seems you’ve already fixed the glitch, we all hope you fix everything soon and that the rom will be fast and stable like AOSP ICS.

  • andrianpurnama says:

    Waww…. realy amazing naiseee.

  • Sanjar Maksumov says:

    Looks nice , can’t for it !! 🙂

  • wouter says:

    wooow, 4.2… you guys rock!

Take your time to do thing right.
I’m enjoying the ICS AOSP RC2 very much.
Best rom ever I put on my Gio.

Thanks again for leetifying my budget phone.

  • André Miranda says:

Good one, but where can I get the sources?

  • Sanjar Maksumov says:

Any ETA on release ?? Still cant wait for it haha

  • biswatmak says:

    Any info about the release….

  • admrlspeedy says:

Wow you are the man. I can’t wait for this!

  • I’m checking the page every 15 minutes. I can’t wait for this! It’ll be awesome!

  • ks says:

What with ICS? Are you going to finish it?

  • Chris says:

I don’t care if you finish only JB or ICS, but please try to release a rom that will not be Beta or RC something, for a change…

Thanks for your hard work at any rate!

    • Macław says:

If you think that it’s so simply to do it, shut up. A lot of things cannot be fixed cause by missing sources from Samsung/hardware producers and by hardware. Other developers calls their releases STABLE only to make people more interested, but in real it isn’t.

  • steve says:

Again with the sources eh? You aren’t going to release them -_-

I hope you know that’s a violation of the terms of the GPL and the Android Open Source license. You guys could get in trouble if you don’t release.

  • rcseven7 says:

Please dont forget to make it works with second partition sd card.. because the internal memory on gio is to little.

I had try CM 10.1 jelly bean 4.2.1 but it can’t work with partition card.. i hope it gonna be different. GO go go Maclaw !! 🙂

    • phil says:

I’m using cm10.1, and i can use a second partition with a modded version of s2e, but it took me many time on the web to found.
I think i’ll switch to maclaw’s ROM, and i hope an easier way to do that.

  • Cak.Upik says:

  • Taracair says:

  • kevin says:

  • Tri says:

This is my 200 refresh to this page still awaiting for official release of AOSP JB from Maclaw Studio…

  • Hans E says:

Glad to see this. Gives me a WOW feling. Will it be smoother on gio then ICS, or is hardware gio to slow for smooth JB?

  • em says:

    What about eap sim maclaw?
    U can ad or not?
    Thx for all bro

  • Viswa says:

Dude , I was using one of your roms sometime back which was Android Jelly Bean based on CM10 . But i really lacked camera and bluetooth . SO i had to go back to stock . Now since you have made really great advancements , I would really like to come back to using your rom . But my question is whether is it worth waiting for your jelly bean release or going ahead with the ICS release ??

  • Since that “Hello World!” post I’ve been visiting your page every 10 minutes when I was at my computer hoping that I would finally see a post like “AOSP Jelly Bean 4.2.1 Released!” Now I’m getting very, very impatient. So far I’m sick from this waiting 😀 Please, release that ROM as soon as possible. I would like to try it so much! It would give my Gio a new breath.

  • Andrea says:

Did you gona post some changelogs about your progres work with JB AOSP

  • Tri says:

Ooopppsss….still not releasing :D, I’ll refresh the page 10 minutes again.

  • eugen says:

  • heuay says:

Maclaw sir will u try kernel 3 someday?

  • CrazyMan123 says:

how can i get this rom??????????

  • eugen says:

Draga Neon, niciodata nu vor merge bine aceste versiuni si crede-ma ca nu ai nimic in plus, doar un alt look…..

  • admrlspeedy says:

Just a heads up. Wayland and Olddroid have had video recording working for a while now, so it’d be nice if we could get that too. I love your ROM but I would like video recording without having to use videocam illusion and you seem to be just leaving it not working and jumping straight to JB.

I can’t figure out why it doesn’t work on your ROM however. If I use your Camera HAL on Olddroids CM10.1 and reboot, video recording works.

I’m guessing it’s caused by the outputted file type, since Olddroids ROM only records in 240p and exports in something other than MP4.

  • Bob says:

No comment! You’re fantastic! But Camillusion is quite bad 🙂

  • Geovanehenry says:

Greart, congratulations on the good work.

  • Samsung should sponsor you.

  • Andrei says:

    I’m checking for this daily.
The suspense is killing me. Literally.

  • Pavan G says:

Great work guys! Cant wait for this one!

  • Sanjar Maksumov says:

Thanks again Maclaw and Marcin your the best 😉

  • Pelearmee says:

I will come every 30 seconds to check if it was released … my phone is happy with every release

  • BogdanWP says:

Leaving my reply here also for some encouragement like the users above. Can`t wait for Jelly Bean AOSP , using ICS AOSP right now and it`s the best thing. Good luck.
