RELEASE for S3 Mini
Carbon 4.4.4
New release (20140728) of Carbon 4.4.4 for S3 Mini is available!
For flashing KitKat, we recommend you to install our TWRP recovery (available on Download page)!
If you want to say thanks by donating us using PayPal, feel free 😉
Do full backup before installation and wipe data/cache (factory reset) after installation (only from stock ROM).
If you’re updating from older CM10.1/10.2/11.0 version or migrating from Oliver’s CM, you don’t have to perform a wipe!

Need a critically work done on cm11 , battery drain solo quick !!
not to mention the sound recorder that IS NOT WORKING (I tested it….it works fine on stock…so it is the rom’s problem), the HUGE LACK OF PERFORMANCE, UNREPSONSIVENESS and the SystemUI/TestGuard that randomly crash and bring up the lockscreen
P.S……BATTERY IS DRAINING TOO FAST INDEED

You will have bad performance and unresponsiveness and draining whilst having the 1 GHz bug.
In my case, one of the System processes is maxing out the CPU and a reboot with WiFi off helps.
Haven’t had this in 3 days though.
i don’t understand how there are a ton of bugs in this rom but under issues they always say none
Oh, great! Wifi Direct, Youtube HQ, No 1GHz bug, issues with WiFi are fixed, great performance boost… And Video Playing. Yeah, great. Twitch, Yelo TV, Sporza TV, Netflix, Plex, I’ll be back!

Installed, cleaned all caches, factory reset… boot up… FC on a whole load of essential apps making set up impossible.
I’ll try again, but any ideas what’s going on?
Install Gapps again and clean dalvik cache on TWRP
Clear the data of the app that FC

Someone has a problem when restarting the smartphone reduce 3% of the battery instantly?
Someone has a problem of some smartphone apps disappear without explanation? Are installed but are not accessible.
If you installed apps to the external sd upon reboot it takes a while for them to load, so it may seem as they’ve disappeared but after a few mins they all should return. Hope this helps you.
Downloaded and Testing! A thing to notice guys: In the Kernel Version: 3.0.101 -novafusion+ [email protected] #1 Wed Jul 23 15:21:26 CEST 2014. Question: When you asked us for doing the Spam to Samsung, it was after the 23rd… and on Friday 25 I got the confirmation email for the latest kernel. Shouldn’t the Kernel has to be more up to date? I mean the Date perhaps? Or should it says “Samsung” instead of “Novafusion”? Thanks in advance!!

I updated my phone from 07/08 release to this one, dirty install. Everything seems to be ok. No 1ghz bug (after rebooting with wifi on). Testing battery life atm. Thanks a looot!!

Just finished testing battery. I’m using a 2100 mah battery, it took half an hour of videogame usage to shutdown my phone from 100% to 0%. With 07/08 release I was able to play for 2 hours and ended up with 30%. Bottomline, this release drains battery like crazy. :c

Still doesn’t charge with car adapter and clock freeze is still happening.
Other than that, everything seems to be working just fine. BT seems to be working better (didn’t work for me in previous build).
After a couple of days,:clock freeze is worst than ever for me, morning alarm clock never worked since this update. BT works fine but many times I get a FC when I enable it, I have to accept the FC popup and then enable BT a second time for it to work.
Hi, many thanks. I’ve managed to use f2fs but the data saving procedure didn’t work.
I’ve used the console mode of TWRP to tar the data partition onto an ext4 partition on my external sd card. Untarring later on failed with some strange code.
Furthermore I cannot use USSD codes anymore, e.g.
*#0*# for the test menu did work with the stock rom but not with Carbon 4.4.4.
Is there any method to fix this?

Yes, it’s working just fine. Install stickmount from Google Play, invoke it to mount the stick. Then you can access it under /usbdisk0. Lateron you have to unmount it again.

Does not work, yet. Best you can do is using exFAT.
Wifi signal is still showing weak indicator & continually fluctuating in power up & down when compared to my HP laptop wifi signal in same location at home.. my HP laptop signal is normally double in power & more stable.. I tried some of the wifi signal booster applications but still weak.. & sometimes when on a skype video call the wifi signal will disconnect.. any suggestions, appreciate it..
note: I have 2 units of S3 mini for me & my wife with same weak wifi signal..
Same problem here, weak WiFi reception… Any solutions, please? Really like this ROM, don’t wanna go back to a Rom Stock.
Hi abdulla, I know this is a bit late to comment on but HP/Laptops have a much stronger WiFi card and would always get twice what a mobile phone in this case an s3mini can get. In my opinion get a stronger router or a better phone. This is not novafusions fault. I have been getting good wifi with this same build. And PS WiFi boosters don’t work they just disconnect your phone and reconnect it hoping it will boost the network only works for network by connecting you to the strongest tower but all in all boosters are useless
