New experimental build (20150114) of CM12.0 for S3 Mini is available!
This build won’t harm your device, but things listed in changelog might not work if change is not listed as confirmed. We will make experimental builds really often. Stable builds will be released only if build has been fully tested and changelog has been confirmed.
For flashing Lollipop, we recommend you to install our TWRP recovery (available on Download page)!

Do full backup before installation and wipe data/cache (factory reset) after installation if you don’t updating from older CM12.0 release.
You need to perform a wipe if you’re migrating from software different than CM12.0!

Same here on standard GT-I8190. Actually, previous release had no flicker and this release added flicker, lol.
AMAZING RELEASE !!!!!!!
The followings are FIXED:
* MP4 Videos are begin played without any issues,
* No flickering,
*Automatic 3G configuration: the parameters are being automatically retrieved from the network provider.
* Some apps that were crashing due to the usupported video format are now working flawlessly
All that have been stated in the changelogs are working for me. An awesome release really. Kudos guys
( The only thing remaining would be the playback videos from the camera, as stated by the developpers)

the root activate it in “Developer options”
In CM12 privacy guard takes care of root. First you need to activate root (apps only) through developer options.

Music app is crashed 🙁 Help please

i have the same my music app is crashing after a day first i get a random reboot then my mobile is crashing and then my music player doesn’t work anymore and i have to do a factory wipe to fix it

after install it from recover or odin i have just cynogenmod logo and its stay the phone doesn’t open just logo and the arrow around it

i spend an hour with someone before with this problem
1.install twrp recovery
2.make sure
data
cache
system
dalvik cache
is ext4 – you can do this be going to wipe check one of the four and click repair and it says at the top
when all are ext4
3.install philz recovery
4install cm12 experimental release (DON’T USE ODIN)
5.reboot – takes about 10 – 15 minutes

If you install latest TWRP at 1. then you don’t need Philz at 3.
By the time I did this fix twrp did not support lollipop
Check your email and i have commented here with my fb account
i also had that what i did was : downloaded the original samsung rom(you have to see wich roms belongs to your country) and then flash it with ODIN then just do that thing on the start and let your device start up when its fully started and you can open app and all that download lollipop for odin and flash it and then install gapps and that worked for me also do a factory reset and wipe cache after installing samsung official rom and before installing lollipop
How long did you wait? First boot can take longer than 10 min.
And before install; format system, cache & data partitions as EXT4 filesystem.
You have to be very patient, mine took 20 minute to boot
First install the Rom and restart, then install the Gapps and restart both restarts delayed about 10 min. (Wipe in EXT4)

I had that prob too but just :
1. Boot into recovery
2.Wipe Data(Factory Reset)
3. In advanced also wipe dalvik cache
4.Reboot system

Anybody here using an encrypted phone. Upgraded from CM11 and formated partition. If i start encryption phone just reboots.
hmm maybe a new TWRP is needed that includes changes from android 5.0 to allow proper creation of /data partition?

for those having some problems, here are some fixes:
–Video playback: HW acceleration not working for some people (work for me, maybe just mp4, not sure) if it doesn’t work for you, download mx player then go into “preferences–decoder–software decoder(local) ” set that to ON
–For bootloop ( stuck at bootanim): go in recovery ( ideally lastest twrp, 2.7.0.0 might work, dunno) then, if your flash zip is on internal sd, copy it to external sd using the file manager in twrp. after that, go into the Wipe menu and tap grey banner (file system) and change /data /system /dalvik /cache /sd card (not external !!!!) (you shouldn’t see it, but if you do, dont wipe /efs!!!!!!) to ext4. BE CAREFULL, YOU’LL LOOSE ALL INTERNAL SD FILES ///PHOTOS-VIDEOS ETC./// once it is done install cm12 zip from where you moved it then gapps for lollipop. you’re done.
–to copy file to phone, i highly suggest AirDroid from gplay. it allow to upload files to phone quickly and flawlessly. simply connect to same wifi as your pc, open the app, type the ip it show you into your pc web-browser then follow the steps. its easy, much easier than using usb.
–to get root, go into about this phone, type about 8 time build number or such, then go into devloppers options, and enable root for apps. (dont remember full name)
–novafusion are doing tons of work just to make people happy, they are humans and do their best for you, be grateful, it would be nice 😛
Don’t forget to donate at NovaFusion team if you like their Roms. they are really nice, incredible would be a better word choice. used their rom for long 🙂 . sadly, i’m too young to have a paypal account, so i sadly cant donate :/

Since you seem to know quite a lot, I’d like to ask something to someone that can actually answer me because that’s hard to find :
I’m as of right now using PAC-rom, is it going to be updated by Novafusion to Lollipop ?
If I were to go from PAC to CM, should I do a cache and data wipe ? And if I could go from PAC 4.4.4 to PAC 5.0 if it exists ?
If you could help me by answering an of those questions that’d a great help, I’ll also send an e-mail to the Novafusion team to ask them.
hi, sorry but i cant give you any precise awnser. i personnally dont think they will update pac rom to 5.x since it is a lot of work. it’s clear that they will not update it soon. hope you find something you like quickly 😛 good luck !

mtp seem to works partially when i connected my phone to pc all the drivers are installed it recognized my phone and says smasung mtp connected but nothing is shown in the pc explorer rest all the changelogs works fine if you want i can get you the screenshot

Hi 🙂 can anybody help me please? I’ve tried both stable and experimental versions of cm12 and it won’t update? My phone just hangs on the update process for about 5 minutes then says unable to update error 7? Also now I’ve tried a few times to update and had to restore back to cm11 each time when my phone boots up the Samsung s3 mini boot screen is now black with a load of red, blue, and green pixelated dots on it? It does go past that and boot to the CyanogenMod screen fine so just wondered if I’ve knackered my phone somehow

[i8190N] What I found still don’t work in the current release:
– videos playback from apps (facebook, instagram, tumblr) doesn’t work (the app crashes) or it works only sometimes (youtube); however, MP4 can be easily watched from gallery;
– some random android.process.media crashes for no reason and giving no problem but annoying message (eg. when sending image as whatsapp message);
– 3G worked before, now it seems to suck battery and overheat the phone (but not always, and I can’t explain why; my provider is “3” (H3G italy);
– there are still annoying flickes USING GOOGLE CHROME and in some apps (eg. Amazon while sliding pictures. It also did that in CM11, and it is not a problem; but it is in google chrome because you have to scroll up and down several times to refresh the sceen);
– MTP still not working.

Edit: now 3g doesn’t suck all that battery power anymore. I just wiped and now it is fine

please, stop complaining about the same bugs everyone reports! the rom is said as “beta” and “experimental” so random reboot, apps crashing, mtp not working, facebook video not working and all that stuff is normal, all these are said like 30 time in each release comments. we know these problems. maclaw and its team alone cant fix everything in 1-2months, do you know how much maclaw work on his roms? give them a break! thanks, Maclaw, for all that incredible work. you are the only reason why my phone isn’t in a trash. everybody complaining, please, be respectfull :S
remember to read comments and all the release notes. personnally i read much more than this, but comm. and release post is the bare minimum stuff to read when installing beta stuff…
i would recommend for non-dev//such to stick at cm11 until cm12 get “stable” stated
anyway, cm11 is kind of incredible and give performance 5-6 time higher than stock 😛
personnally, i currently use cm12 and i dont have any problems exept a SOO-FUCKIN-DANGEROUSLY-HUGE- P-E-R-F-O-R-M-A-N-C-E! which is a big problem 😛

did you make any modifications to your build/core/Makefile to skip generation of recovery-from-boot.p file? i tried to build rom for S3 mini using stock cyanogenmod 12 sources and the device tree found on NovaFusion’s GitHub but it seems i’m stuck at that point… left the build overnight… didnt work

AUDIO SUCKS!!! Music app closes randomly and i still haven’t found an equalizer that works with spotify.Also xposed doesn’t work it says that there isn’t an executable file. Good work but it gas still some pretty important bugs.
