RELEASE for S3 Mini
CyanogenMod 12.1
New stable release (20150614) of CM12.1 for S3 Mini is available!
Please, test it and report any bugs!
For flashing Lollipop, we recommend you to install our TWRP recovery (available on Download page)!
Do full backup before installation and wipe data/cache (factory reset) after installation if you don’t updating from older CM12.0 release.
You need to perform a wipe if you’re migrating from software different than CM12.0!

Issues
- video taken by stock camera app is green, but some apps like Camu taking correct videos without any issues
- less than 2% of users are reporting issues with mobile data – just add new APN manually with settings proper for your provider and apply it to make 3G working

I come to report these bugs:
– To restart the device, it consumes a lot of battery.
– Crash videos(Instagram, facebook, youtube, tumblr)
– The developer mode disappears from the Settings menu.
– Charging offline, does not fill the battery.
– Can’t move apps to SD Card
– And finally in settings, applications bar memory usage of all applications does not appear, here I leave a screenshot of the problem: http://i.imgur.com/XkImVll.jpg

app moving to sd is a problem with android lollipop which cm are still working on
the memory bar is not part of cyanogenmod or android l
novafusion only bring cm12 to our phone and try to fix any problems

As requested in the topic, here are my bugs
– Bad French layouts
– Bad French translation due to Cyanogenmod
– BLN Control doesn’t work, due to Novafusion kernel, apparently
– Still torch Long on-time.
– Still torch crashes when toggle several times… then it reboots, and I must reboot again because simcard is not activated
– No EAP-SIM
– Sometimes when I turn on the screen, the touch doesn’t work.
– Battery drains so fast !
– Very slower compared with previous releases
– During phone call, to increase the volume, I must decrease and increase
To Nova Team:
– could you update the link to download GAPPS, please ? It is broken…
– could you update TWRP to 2.8.6.0 ?

Have you tried the 5.1.1 Carbon to see if your problem gets solved with that ROM?

No I haven’t and I don’t really intend on trying any more until I get some clarification on this issue. While I appreciate the effort the dev team are putting in here, not one ROM I have tried from here doesn’t have the SIM related issues I have mentioned thus far. So far, I have tried two custom ROMs based on Jellybean that actually work, and that is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2119219 and: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2165575
Both those work with the exception of a few modifications on BenzROM (I am fast learning that no custom ROM is perfect.)
I think maybe it has something to do with system specific operational files that don’t match up with my variant of the Galaxy MINI. Your guess is as good as mine.

They’re all dodgy. The only luck I have had with custom ROMs where all native tethers are working are with BanzROM and DMod; no SIM or camera / video related issues there.
Personally I think the dev team here should ask for help to fix these problems more often, surely someone has the solutions out there.

How do I get to be super user?
To get developer mode, go to settings – build number and tap it a lot of times. It will unlock Dev mode

This is an issue with CM, it may have been dropped upstream. You can try things like link2sd in the meantime

But this time a lots of problems:
– WIFI Drop -> After some time Wifi drop connection and I need turning off an on again
– Reboots leave so much time and drain a lots of battery
– Battery wont correct display -> All times battery full charge show only 94%
– RANDOM BRINKS -> This is my big problem, for example if I turn torch on, after some time phone turning off… And.. BRICK, to back I need to enter in TWRP and re-flash ROM and clear cache and dalvik, in this process my battery drain a lots. And isn’t only in torch, some times random reboots make that too.
– Video Codec wont work properly -> Sometime YouTube work, sometime crash, in my games is the same, sometimes work videos from games, some crashs…
– Cant move app to SD Card.

Seems I can access the SIM Toolkit provided I set a SIM pin, major pain in the ass! Can the dev team please do something so you don’t have to to that to access it. Thanks.
There’s more. Even when you are able to access the SIM via the method above, you are still locked out of being able to read / write to it.
I have seen a lot of progress with these ROMs which I am grateful for, but the SIM issues (all of them) need to get resolved. Years have gone by and the problems are still there. Don’t be ashamed to ask for help guys. Thanks.

I don’t really know which bugs were fixed, but in comparison to march releases, the whole continue CM 12 has been broken as video can’t be played, Instagram does not load videos, random crashes, and now the exchange mail APP stop working after you set up an email account.
I wonder if CM 12.1 will not get fixed because novafusion devs are now working int that Carbon software. Is it nice? is it better than CM 12.1? Because if it is, I could change since I am tired of so many bugs with CM 12.1 🙁
I only preffer CM 12.1 over CM 11 because the battery saver function, which has enlarge my battery life by hours at day!

I could tell you from my point of view that CarbonLP5.1.1 is much much better. I’ve use CM11 March 2015 edition without any errors. I personally don’t like CM12/12.1 because of constant errors. I have one error with Carbon and that’s the SIM card doesn’t read my contacts. I don’t worry as I have contacts save all over the place to include google accounts. Other than that everything else works. No issues with emails, youtube, whatapps, stock camera (I use best camera personally), Offline charging animation, volume control, dialer, battery drain issues and reboot issues. I have no other issues with this ROM except for the one. If I were you I would try the Carbon. These guys did a great job with it. Enjoy

I’ve downloaded these gapps long time ago and it works fine with Carbon. Enjoy!!!
Reporting bug: when I connect my charger to the phone the music player turns on and starts playing music, most of the times it doesn’t seem like charging.
