RELEASE for S3 Mini
CyanogenMod 12.1
New stable release (20160117) of CM12.1 for S3 Mini is available!
Please, test it and report any bugs!
For flashing Lollipop, we recommend you to install our TWRP recovery (available on Download page)!
Do full backup before installation and wipe data/cache (factory reset) after installation if you don’t updating from older CM12.0 release.
You need to perform a wipe if you’re migrating from software different than CM12.0!
You can get it on our DOWNLOAD page.

Issues
- video taken by stock camera app is green, but some apps like Camu taking correct videos without any issues
- less than 2% of users are reporting issues with mobile data – just add new APN manually with settings proper for your provider and apply it to make 3G working

What’s the objective of this update? Nothing important has been changed at all, just log updates. I would be also glad if you could fix camera bug once for all because Camu videos are extra-laggy,
I am talking from experience when I say
It is possible but hard to do without help from Samsung or a developer with insane knowledge of porting and kernel editing
As the camera code was created for jellybean on the kernel level
Extremely surprised that everything else like WiFi is working properly
Nothing at all fixed, just log updates. Please, fix camera issue once and for all!
Thats unpossible, because this is a driver problem. Only Samsung itsself can publish new drivers for Lollipop for S3 mini…
If you need nativ cam support you must use CM11 Kitkat rom.

Double unlock? Not fixed, but this small bug.
Wi-Fi? Wi-Fi normal. Lamp freezes sometimes. And sometimes he reloaded. But all this stuff – the calls works perfectly, the battery is not eating, loud call, loud voice.
NovaFusion firmware for old devices – big bug only green cam(no hd video, sd – camu), others bugs – small: double unlock, battery adc(no voltage), ota update, lamp freezes, reboots (root – probably not bug). This firmware is much better than the stock firmware for some new devices.
Was there a WI-FI bug? Which is it?

Has anyone experienced problems with voip calls (Skype, WhatsApp, etc.)? When I call or when someone else calls me, I can hear, but they can’t hear me.

I had this problem but it is because of Google Now is blocking the micro and waiting for you to say “o. K. Google “. You have to disable it in the settings for Language. It shouldn’t work on every screen. Then Skype will work properly again.

This not fix for Android5. Use Camu and recording SD video. HD video – only Android4 (CM11) or Stock. Say “thanks” to Samsung for video drivers.

You’re right, we need someone that really knows about driver development. From all the talent I’ve seen I’m surprised no one has cracked it yet.
AudioFX is really works laggy. İs there any way to replace it with Viper4android. it’s work much better then AudioFX.

I’m using 20160112 of CM12.1 on S3 Mini
Bluetooth is switching off by itself after a few hours and it won’t let me turn it on again.
The only way (I found) to turn it on is to re-start. Interestingly: BT is turned on after the restart. (for a few hours and then, see above…)
Is that a known issue?
If not: where can I find the Bugtracker?

Can anybody place here a video taken by Camu or any other application running in Cyanogenmod 12.1? I tried cyanogenmod 12.1 but the Camu take 5fps video. Unusable.

WIFI problem persist in this release.
How to check the problem:
1- Set your WIFI Router Security to WPA2(AES).
1a- Apply changes
2- Restart your Router
3- In your smartphone, go to WIFI and connect to it, and verify if Internet is working.
4- when smartphone is connected correctly, lock it via power button and restart your WIFI router.
4a Check via other smart is WIFI working again. (Don’t touch the smart Locked)
5- With another smart connected to the same WIFI net, send message yourself to the other one via mail or other application installed and configured in your (Smart Locked).
6- Without touching (Smart Locked) the messages never arrive.
7- When the home key or power key is pressed, the smartphone automatly connect to wifi in a few seconds.

But really wifi are connecting normally , when it was before the screen desbloquio , took to connect wi- fi, or could not even connect alone, but this version 17-01 , I do not have this problem. I’m receiving messages and notifications normally when not being on line with phone in hand in use.
For video record use vivavideo.
Sound Recorder says ” internal problems ” and not let me send audio through WhatsApp , that there any solution for this ?? thanks

After install all the apps (Ex instagram, etc) it can be moved to SD card.
Facebook app can not be instaled.

Battery drain faster then release 2016/01/12. But this release is much faster. I hope you could fix this.

It was not an order, but I have this problem since before 2016 and I’m using Facebook Lite since the original app is not installed. Then there’s the bug that when switched off do not see the animation of the battery being charged but never mind.

I read your comments guys out there, and it’s like you are talking to your battler: “(I command you) Fix it”. Don’t you ever use words like: “Please”.
WTF. You guys take a FREE ROM and you are so rude like you paid so much money for something which was supposed to work and it’s not working. If you want to be rude, do it with Samsung who sold that mobile to you and has stopped support months ago and let all of us with Android. 4.1
If you think something is missing, do it yourself and give it for free to others. If you can’t fix it, be patient and for God shake, be POLITE.
I have to say in advance that I updated multiple CM12.1 versions.
At first glance the release is good.
Minor problems:
– brightness slider does not work
– Google clock / clock widget crashes sometimes
Hey, my NFC has stopped working since i installed.. Anyone know of a fix?
I’m still having Bluetooth problems with my S3-mini, and I can’t believe I’m the only one. So, please help me if you can.
I have updated to the latest CM12.1 build 20160117. 20160112 was the the first CM12.1 release installed (clean with factory reset, whipe) with open_gapps-arm-5.1-micro-20160115.
BT turns itself off after a few minutes or hours, even if it’s not been used (at least not that I’m aware). And then it refuses to turn on again. All I can do is restart the phone.
I was using CM11.0 20151017 without any BT issues for months. So I don’t believe it’s a H/W problem. And everything else is working very well with CM12.1. I’d hate to go back to CM11.
What can I do to trace the issue?

unfortunately I have some issues with the bluetooth function. After some hours the bluetooth function got frozen. Meaning the bluetooth main process is still running, but some sub processes are getting lost. So, when I stopp the bluetooth app and start afterwards the BT function I have the main process running plus 9 subprocesses before there were only 7.
Could you kindly check and solve it.

I have release (20160112) of CM12.1 for S3 Mini, in future releases you can increase the volume of the earpiece when the phone is to your ear, and also volumes in general, handsfree call, because the app increases AudioFX only when you listen to music instead of me serving mainly in call.

Great work. Camera is working ok, problem is with google play store when phone goes to standby mode and turn off screen it stops downloading app and when you turn screen on it says that network limitations for google play have been set, but I didn’t find that settings anywhere, i had only wi-fi on. I miss NFC feature and I couldn’t get OTG working yet. Thank you and keep going with great work.

If I try to install an apk, it says ‘App not installed’. Can someone please help me?
Download es file explorer, create a folder in /system/data, give it the same permissions as the other folders there have an paste the apk there. Restart, go there and install that apk. Then, delete the folder. Done! Thats how i installed minecraft and hitman
Also remember that system folder isnt nor in sdcard or scard1, its in “device” category (the flash)

Hello, I used the Factory Reset on my S3 Mini and now my phone is in Boot Loop flashes “teamwin”. How do I fix this?
Snapchat doesn’t work, the cam have problems with all apps.
First of all – thxs a lot to Nova for the hard word keeping our old S3 Mini at life …
But this Rom has a problem with the CPU usage/sleep at least on my device
(high CPU usage in/from the Android system itself and the CPUs are not speeding down
runs almost at 1GHz) … result is a fast battery drain (sometimes)
seems to be, that this is issue is gone in the new one from 20162301 …
hi every body, i have problems when a try to move apps to sd, i always get a message telling me that there is no space. I try to format the sd from TWRP in f2fs but still does not work. Tanks for the help
