Umm, are you serious? You took the time to reup this old patch… Why wouldn’t you just throw together one with the preview working…
As I said, it isn’t ready (in development). Preview will be only with beta9.
He’s a dev, not a magician, as much as you want him to be.

I don’t want him to do anything magically. He said in multiple comments and news posts that they have the preview working smoothly now… Go look at some of the older news, he has said it many times… How hard is it to compile those libs into a patch, not very…
Unless you guys are heavily modifying the camera app rather than the camera libs, then I apologize for the comment.

hello.. i want to ask if the latest Nightly for Ace can be applied to S5830B.. yeah with B at the end..
My Galaxy Ace is an S-5830B and works as Macław says. Only not works the camera preview and Wifi Sharing.

i was looking for a custom rom everywhere for specifically S5830B but couldn’t find any..
for wifi sharing use “wifi tether” application in market..it works for me..!!!

have another question… if i apply this custom rom on a stock rom with root does the root stay in the custom rom or do i have to root it again??
I downloaded the ROM from GalaxyICS.com site for my Galaxy Ace mobile.. Flashed it.. Camera din’t work as expected. Came to this site and downloaded the above link.. Flashed it.. Still does not work.. Says Camera Error “Can’t connect to the camera”. I am I doing something wrong. Should I remove the existing camera.apk from the /system/apps directory and then flash the above zip file? Please guide me.. Thanks for any help.
i saw somewhere that sometimes it didnt work.. but usually it does.. try to reflash it 😀

I flashed it multiple times, but was unsuccessful… However what worked for me is I moved the camera.apk from /system/app to sdcard.. then tapped on it and installed it directly, then rebooted to recovery and flashed it.. then it started working.. and as expected we cannot see any preview before taking any photo, but it does take the photo.. even flash works.
Pretty smooth ROM..
However torch does not work. Also is there any “power settings widget” which can control screen orientation, torch, lock screen and such stuff? There is a lot of lag while playing videos. Is there any way to change the long tap on home-screen behavior?.. currently long tap brings option only to change wallpapers.. I wanted to add widgets, shortcuts etc..
Go to Settings> System> Notification Drawer> Widget Buttons
