  • Is there a good script to mount the second partition to expand internal memory???

  • Nick says:

What is the difference between cm and AOSP?
Is it not basicly the same? Because CM 9 is based on android 4.0.4.

    • Not as technical, but it’s something like:
CM is based in Cyanomod Rom
AOSP is based in AOSP sources (pure android sources)
in CM, you have more things to custom the system, but as far as I know, AOSP is slight smoother and faster.

    • N0P3zz says:

AOSP is clean android system based on google source code and CM9 is basically AOSP with modification 😀

    • Kym Keive says:

Nick, trying to explain as simply as possible, try to think of them like the basic car you get from the car maker (AOSP) or a pimped one (CM9) with all the nitrous, fancy paint work and related customizations from a specialized workshop…

  • Kym Keive says:

Yeah!!! Hey Maclaw, what about flashing from AOSP final 1 to CM9 final is it possible?

    • Kym Keive says:

Actually having a great time with AOSP final 1! just interested in finding out which one is best to stay with while waiting you advance further in JB 🙂

  • ftroncosom says:

  • Charalitos says:

  • MarkusB says:

Do i have to wipe any cache?

  • Zé Bruno says:

  • Martin Hermosillo says:

Its a great rom, so smooth, but this rom has the same trouble than AOSP, the light of the back button and menu button stay on. Congratulations great job.

  • PrinceCH says:

    No BLN support??

  • PrinceCH says:

  • sonnyland says:

    S2E works? I have a galaxy ace…

  • Awais Yousaf says:

there are some bugs like. Instagram not working properly. Camera force closes occasionally. Opera mobile crashes very frequently. Google voice not working. Battery draining very quickly. No HQ video playback.

  • dfsramos says:

What’s the recommended app2sd application? I’ve been using Link2SD but I don’t like it as much as I liked S2E.. Is link2sd the only one around?

    Let me know please!

  • Asep says:

Whoaaa… This ROM is freakin’ smooth. Just like the slim version of Wayland’s CM9.

Maclaw, Marcin! I’m a fan of your work. I install every release of your ROM on my Ace. Unfortunately I always uninstall them not long after they’ve got installed because I can’t get the compass working. It failed to calibrate, just like any other ICS ROMs out there. I use Google Maps a lot to navigate.

This compass issue is not on your list. So, I assume you can get it working. How did you get the compass working on Ace? The X and Z axis seems inverted on my Ace.

    Thanks.

  • Reaper Smith says:

@Maclaw bro, Forgot to say I am trying to use Ace build CM9 Final… hehehe, feel like a bumbass now, lolz 😛

  • evilking009 says:

    Hey maciej,

your rom is super awesome but it has a huge amount of issues in it. such as

    – no overclocking and a lot of missing governors

    – no bln support

    – some apps work slower or sometimes crashes

    – bad ram management support than AOSP

    • c0mpasi0nluv says:

its made not for overclocking, so cant overclock is not an issue

    • raxgarfield says:

      >no overclocking and a lot of missing governors

Well, this is *not* an issue. Maclaw and marcin1147 have planned the kernel this way. Gio cannot be overclocked enough to make anything go noticeably faster. The developers have created a new ‘galaxyics’ governor for the CPU to go through the available speeds with the maximal performance possible.

    • Macław says:

      1. it’s not a bug
      2. it’s not a bug
      3. yes, it’s says so much…
      4. it’s cyanogen crap ;p

  • MONDHER says:

    THANKS

  • threepwood says:

Honestly, don’t know what you guys have done but I have no issues with the ROM at all. No battery drain, no crashes or slow working apps. I might even say that the ROM is better than official CM7 in terms of stability, lag and such.
The only bug I have syumbled upon is that the backlights stay on after changing brightness.
If you want overclocking, bln support and similar things you might want to hit up XDA as there are tons of scripts for such.
Cheers to the team! Great ROM, once again! Thanks!

  • Lorenzo says:

i think that this one is more stable than aospRcfinal1. Very good. And the livepaper work ! Waiting for JB, thanks you guys !!!!

  • sandeepgoud says:

    gr8 job!!!, you guys rock….
    does google now work????

    Is it practically possible
to make google now work on our device
i read somewhere that google now requires armv7

  • V.Vladimirov says:

so this one is better than the aosp ?

  • EricSoedarmadji says:

How to make int2ext work on this rom? someone already try that?

  • golly says:

I tryed int2ext4+ it works. But better is Link2sd – np lags with 65 apps

  • GalaxyCarb says:

Maclaw, This is aweasome rom!! 😀 This is fastest rom I’ve ever used! Thank you. But, there is one bug. USB tether don’t work :/ I hope you fix it soon 🙂

  • nr0526 says:

U ARE THE BEST! Thanx Maclaw and Marcin!

  • Raul says:

    Thanks for your work guys!

  • Reaper Smith says:

What the hell is going on? My first comment has vanished but my second & third remain ? Makes me look even more like the idiot that I am not 😛

Now to post feedback once again…

Congrats Maclaw/Marcin… The rom & your work as always is exemplary…

The reason for my report is this : “com.android.blahblah phone.apk has stopped working” within a minute or two of booting my phone, then 5 seconds later I lose network & the radio shuts down… A re-boot is the only thing that brings it back but then it will happen again within a couple of minutes of booting the rom… It has remained on & working for about 2 hours on a couple of occasions but in general FC’s within minutes of the phone booting… For me this is the only issue but it is the most important aspect of the phone…

Bro, I hope that you can shed some light on this for me & anyone else who may experience this…

Pe”ACE” peeps & respect + MAX kudos to you Maclaw & your Brethren @ Marcin 😉

  • I have problems with the sound (incoming call) do their best to make it work but I can fix PLEASE HELP!

  • tomaasz says:

Macław, dzięki za świetny Rom! Miód:-)
Czy mógłbyś dodać opcję narastającego dźwięku dla budzika?
    Pozdrawiam

  • Geovane says:

    Great, Downloading!!

  • Geovane says:

Hello, I noticed that the video recording is at 320×240, some form of change to 640×480?

  • erghetto says:

it’s incredible how is fast this rom. i think that it’s the only cyano not 7.2 that go so fast on our ace.

only a thing.. it would be great if you could give us a fix for HQ videoplayback.. i know that on aosp ics it work well, so maybe it’s not too difficult for you to fix it.

    thank you guys ^^

  • osama says:

    dobrze… ZAPIERDALA ;D
    thx

  • how to install this rom ? CM9 final

  • Harsh Soni says:

Does voice typing work? Its been ages since I saw it the last time.. On the stock gingerbread I guess. And please guys, I’m not talking about ‘google now’. Just voice search. It shows installed but doesn’t work. I’ve asked this question before too. Please please help. How can I voice type? I used to do crazy things with it.. :'(

  • MarkusB says:

How can I enable a2sd+? Has someone a tutorial for me?

  • Roberto says:

I found the rom optimal, fast elegant and easy to use, the camera normally (fast) the only problem I found was the battery time other roms do not use much (some do) as the SGII uses long, I I installed the app that I think best to let the battery longer mias still while I use the cell it is not hard or 1 hour (do not know if the problem and my only or if others are having tambén) good so I get ready I thank very same,

Note: I was using google translator to translate my English to Portuguese so if something goes wrong word or phrase already know xD

  • ari says:

    Thanks you very much
    You are the best dev…

  • foreneo says:

    super genio

  • armin says:

    Hi.
1- like AOSP, Bln have problem, when u change brightness settings it keeps on and it’s really annoying cause drains battery
2- seems there’s something wrong with init.d, I couldn’t find Voice Search on rom so I flash one of old CM9s gapps + Mega bass + Swap and Adrenalin boost v3 but nothing HAPPENED 😐
3- when u don’t use phone for a while it starts to get slow and slow whats the problem? u have to clear memory for 1min till it goes back normally
    Sorry for bad English 🙂

  • yydhit says:

    thank for information

  • Hariharan R says:

    Hi Maclaw,

    Doing great!!!
I need know what is the difference between ASOP and Cynogenmod 9. please lemme know that..

  • Hariharan R says:

Can u please lemme know the difference b/w ASOP and Cynogenmod 9…Which is the best???????

  • Andy says:

great work in this rom. transitions work really smoothly on my ace, camera works great and i have 80M plus free in the internal memory
however, i’m having trouble with the data connection. it’s kind of erratic. to activate, i have to select “only 2G” option first and then activate data; otherwise it won’t connect. and even so, I lose connection after a few hours.
maybe it happens only to me or my network. i’m in uruguay.
anyway, hope you could fix that and keep up with the awesome work

  • Mateusz says:

    Pozdrawiam 🙂

  • Bruno says:

I’m want to congrats you, Maclaw and Marcin, ’cause this rom is smooth like butter! And for the others guys: I installed INT2EXT+ but it lag my phone like a heel. Use Link2sd

  • Jasper says:

Great job guys. This is the first time I’ve installed a custom rom on my Gio. It made me very happy, no need to replace my phone now…

Just one issue, sometimes a page renders empty. Have seen it in browser (solved by refreshing page), gmail and some other apps (nu.nl & marktplaats, both are Dutch apps).

  • Charles says:

    youtube(HQ)laggy…
    anyone have this problem?

  • adit says:

    It dont have init.d

  • Wojtek says:

  • randy says:

the only problem i encountered was the video playbak. all of my files were mp4, it reads my file but in slow motion. poor video playback. i am using mx player but the same problem occur. cm7 was way better when i played the same files. smooth as butter. cm9 and aosp sucks at video play back..great rom though.

  • Ln says:

    Problem: laggy HQ Youtube
Other suggestions: overclock, disable boot animation

    anyway a great ROM!

  • Daniel says:

I’m still using the old beta 8. I never updated after this because I was waiting for the final release. Now that it’s out I finaly updated the system but I faced a very disastrous problem – Barely any programs showed up and neither my settings were stored. I don’t even have Play Store! Someone help me please, I’ve been using this rom since the early Alphas back at XDA Forums and always updated without problems.

    • Daniel says:

I also want to point out that I’m using S2E with a 512MB ext4 partition, that I created on my PC using PatitionMagic, without journaling.

      • Daniel says:

Thankfuly I had an old backup from which I restored back to beta 8. All’s good now but how can i update to final1 without losing anything? Do I need CWM6?

        • Daniel says:

Well I ended up wiping and formating everything and installed it clean. But now S2E doesn’t detect my ext4 partition. Doesn’t S2E work anymore with this ROM?

  • irfan charstherz says:

    Link download?

  • podmatrix says:

I have one serious problem with my browers while I’m on mobile data. While I’m on Wi-Fi I have no problem with using any browser but when I switch to mobil data I can’t access any website. My stock browser is starting to download some unknown file with 0 byte file size in background and the browser is closing (the file never downloads). Same is with Dolphin: The same file which never downloads but it opens new tab. I tried with Opera too. Here it shows me 403 error. Tried with Firefox: and it loads File not found page. How to fix this problem?

  • Pelearmee says:

is a little bug, dont worry… the aosp is great… thanks…

  • joaolouro96 says:

  • samir says:

  • WsAnO says:

    No BLN support

  • Is the LED bug fixed? (I mean when I change the brightness LEDs keep turned on)

  • Sam says:

Thanks guys, this rom is great, and using the touchwiz 5 theme it feels like porting a samsung stock rom. Have you the plan of continue with cm10 project for Ace and Gio?

  • supwin says:

    Thank you

  • Nuno Forjaz says:

Many thanks to devs, unfortunately due to economic reasons I’m still holding to my Gio and this was the upgrade I could afford (free !!) I’m still searching for a way to fix the compass it’s inverted(google maps), If I hold my phone upside down it works. I’m using INT2EXT+ for the lack of memory and sdboost (GP) for speeding up the phone, and it’s perfect !! As I said all stuff works except for the compass but I’m working on it! If anyone has a solution mail me 🙂 (google my name)
