Some realse is better than no release! Thank you maclaw!

  • LT says:

    Bluetooth still doesn’t work properly.
The Gio connects, disconnects, connects, …
When connected, only phone calls work but not arbitrary media files (output at phone speakers)

Been Waiting long for a release, Thanks Maclaw Team

I have one question, why don’t the games that used to work such as GTA 3 and BTD Battles work on CyanogenMod 7 but don’t work on CM10.1? I really need you help!

  • Andrea says:

For me the best are always the Aosp 4.2.2 and the CM9. Smooth, clean and the CM9 has a good battery life

    • pop says:

Best battery live so far was indeed with CM9 … however I miss 2 or 3 features that exists on AOSP 4.2 and CM10.1 but are not available in CM9…

  • Rohit Mehta says:

update is very stable, great work team, but i only have one issue and a request:
Issue is that whats app notification not working since last two releases and i have a request that can u able to add bln in next build if possible.
    Thanks in advance

    • Hi,

It´s not really a rom issue but a whatsapp problem. There´s diferent solutions for this on google. I prefer using the cyanogen profiles and it´s working but, I can´t remember where I got the instructions.

      • Foranz Costello says:

Go to Systemsettings –> Profiles –> App Groups –> hit + –>create new App Group –> click + in that App Group and add App WhatsApp –> Go back to profiles and hit Settings symbol –> Now ad the app group to your active profile and enable notifications for the new App Group

  • ZeroII says:

Can the dev team spend time to integrate a bug-free effem? I mean, with bug-free a repaired volume control. I think C3C0 from xda dev had a fix for it.

  • ravi says:

    Live wallpaper not work…

in GAPPS.rar (Google Now Update) without voice

    plz solve this problem…

  • dundee says:

    I’m a little disappointed.
I confess that I still have a hope for updated release of CM9.

  • Tor says:

First of all I apologize for posting this here but since the forum requires registration and tormail is down I cannot do so. I was wondering about the long term development plans of the dev team for Gio.

Sometime ago you posted a teaser about running debian on gio, is that still in your plans?(notice how I am NOT asking for an ETA 🙂 just if you are still interested on doing it)

If so, would it permit dual-booting with cyanogenmod?

And lastly, have you considered doing replicant for Gio? (For us slightly paranoid users a fully free version of cyanogenmod would be extremely well appreciated)

    Many thanks,

  • Stannieman says:

Nice, I check here very day, but must have looked over this update. Thanks, flashing asap!

  • ThatGuy says:

One Of the BEST releases, im Overclocked, But my battery still lasts INCREDIBLY LONG!! and I use My phone Allot!! 😀 Great Job Maclaw Team

  • boom says:

That’s a very stable release. This ROM + MA6 Kernel and Fly-On Mod is awesomeness. Keep up the good work guys 😉

  • Rawysz says:

Hi. I reported this problem one or two builds before. Recently I installed this version (clean install on formatted partition) and the problem still exists.

On Gio. This is random, most of the times I don’t get this error. When turning on wifi the screen displays “turning on…”, phone stops responding and after a minute or two reboots. Please fix.

  • Misi says:

Link2SD does not working in this version. Link2SD can’t mount external partition(any type of filesystem)
The older version of mod – example 20130616 build – works fine.

  • Anoop says:

Maclaw. Please add an undervolting kernel in your ROM

  • uccz says:

Hi! On my gio battery is discharging very quick(for example ~3h on WiFi) its caused by ROM or battery? Sry for my english.

  • M. Nur says:

i hope this ROM solution for running BBM in my gio, but after flashing and installed BBM was force closed……. anyone can fix that

  • mitch says:

How would I go about building this for cooper?

  • cem says:

    Thx 2 Maclaw team….
    Great job mon pote!!

  • Teodor says:

I used all your ROMs and I love them! The problem is that CM10.1 and AOSP JB are very slow 🙁 So, what is the smoothest ROM? I ask because I can’t remember how CM9 and AOSP ICS works 🙂 Please, can anyone tell me what is the smoothest ROM?

  • julio says:

i have problem with the notification

  • abr says:

Can’t connect to wi-fi. Phone finds wi-fi, says good signal, but not connecting to it :(.

  • abr says:

  • broken says:

Maclaw! What about new Android 4.3 soft on GIO? Did you sell your one? There is still a lot of users of this phone model anyway! You’re doing great job and we love it!

  • marco says:

can u pls focus on battery drain pls i reaaly need a rom updated with good battery drain

  • Mike says:

    Hi Maclaw!

Great job! But on my Gio (also try reinstall) some apps are randomly not running. For example Osmos HD works only once for a few times. Hill Climb Racing gives some MediaPlayer issue. I can post you a log if you’re interested.

    Regards!

  • Peter says:

Tried this ROM and it seems to run like a charm. But I can’t get gapps to install through recovery. I tried the gapps on the download page as well as gapps from goo.im (20130812). No success. I did clean/repartitiion. Any hint how to get gaps running?

    • richard says:

Gapps are version specific. on the downloads page 20130623.zip is the one for 10.1. it should be installed using recovery and you’ll see the version it supports as it starts. I don’t know but would suspect 20130812 is not for your version of android.

      • Peter says:

        Thanks for the response.

I know gapps are version specific. I first tried to use gapps-jb-maclaw-20130623.zip from the download page. I could install from recovery without any issue. But after the restart, the apps where not there. The version from goo.im I tried just as an alternative, without success either. It is according to the website intended for cm 10.1.x android 4.2.2. I now installed paranoid android instead. This one has the gapps integrated. and works. Still do not know what happend though.

        • Richard says:

If I copy both android and gapps to the sd card and install both from recovery I usually have no problems. I use CWM recovery v5.0.2.6. If you do the same then ???
          i use CM10.1 20130906 for gio

          • Richard says:

oh and the gapps-jb-maclaw-20130623.zip. the others show up but make it unstable. It just gives the play store app

  • Tdanz says:

    Hi Maclaw,

Good job on creating such a fine custom rom for our entry level if not low end devices to run and experience the most recent updates of android. I’m just curious if you guys are still working on CM10.2 update for galaxy ace?

    Thank you very much.

  • Anoop says:

Everything works perfect. But the ram management is poor

  • faisol says:

is this rom support for bbm?

  • stef says:

@ peter: system partition has to be mounted in recovery before installing gapps

  • Aronixus says:

    How can i install it?
I only have to use update from sd card in recovery?

  • Balázs says:

    Hi All!
Please help me. How can i make a transparent statusbar like sgs4?

    Thx!

  • Maciej Koż says:

Hi to everyone i would like to know if i can install this custom roms for s5830 on my s5839i (a.k.a samsung galaxy ace VE) will it work for me or will it be errored on any possible way?

  • Max says:

not to bother you guys, I know how you feel about this type of questions..just to know your position or opinion about it, and then I will wait patiently, as I´ve always done (big fan of your work, been using your rom ports since 2011)
here is the question: are you going to work on a KitKat version of the ROM for Ace?
Reason I´m asking is not only because we all want to have the latest and greatest, but because of the fact that it´s supposed to be great and work on a minor memmory footprint (512mb) so it might give old devices a new chance, a second life..unless there are technical things that are actual obstacles and have not been addressed..let me know your thoughts..
keep up the good work, you guys kick ass

  • Maddy says:

Maclaw hats off to your work….kindly let us know when you are releasing next update after cm10.1.2 for ace bcoz this version has one issue that battery drains very fast and give backup of not more than 4-5 hours…kindly announce date of releasing update regarding the same, thanks in advance.

    • Never ask for ETA that’s the rule number 1 for all custom Rom developers. The update will come whenever it is ready. Thanks to team maclaw for continuing to work on Cooper when most of the developers have moved on to higher devices.

  • LuisesK says:

Unfortunately it seems maclaw give up to make new releases for the less fortunate who still has a galaxy ACE. In any case, I hope I’m wrong.

  • Richard says:

Hey maclaw .. finish kitkat for those other phones then put it on ace and gio.
Do you plan to support ACE II

  • Eric says:

I installed this release of CM on my GIO, most stuff works fine, but SMS/MMS doesn’t work right now. It hangs and says app doesn’t react. Would be pleased for help, thx.

  • Johan says:

Any news on a new release for Gio?
    thx

  • TheGod999 says:

Hi, i’ve a galaxy ace with latest cyanogenmod 10.2 nigtly build and this rom has some bugs to fix for example: 1. there’s not the camera app in the rom, and every camera app software don’t works with this rom (so must be fixed and make it working the camera). 2. the brightness control in the status bar toggles has the auto-brightness option but on galaxy ace there’s not the auto-brightness feature since the galaxy ace has not the brightness sensor (so the auto-brightness option must be removed from the brightness control toglle in the status bar) 3. with the cpu setted on 866 mhz the device some times it reboots itself (so must be fixed and make it more stable) 4. there’s not a native option in the rom settings for set the cpu like set cpu app, and should be added an option in the settings for set the cpu so would be more comfortable than use an app for set the cpu, i’ve viewed a rom with this option in the rom settings (for set the cpu) and was very comfortable (so the cpu settings must be added in the rom settings). 5. the option brightness control for edit the brightness sliding on the status bar placed in settings> ui settings> status bar dont’t works (tested and re-tested many times) (so must be fixed or removed since don’t works). and this is all for now, i hope in a quick update of the rom for fix these problems, thanks in advance and very good work with this rom.

I’ve forgot to say that i’ve the cyanogenmod 10.2 nightly build jellybean 4.3.1 downloaded from xda-developers topic and not from here.

  • Vex says:

    Hi,

some questions before flashing this one:
    1. does it contain kernel? If other custom kernel is now used what’s the procedure of flashing?
    2. is GIO still developped? I can only see 10.2 for Ace 🙁
    3. what’s the avarage battery life? I’ve noticed less then 12 hours on other CM10.x ROMs :-/

    • you HAVE to calibrate the baterry once you flash your ROM, othewise it will drain the power like there’s no tomorrow

      • Vex says:

Mardon’s 10.1.6 drained my battery in 1 hour! This one seams better. I’ve been calibrating the bat, now I’m testing it on 122-800MHz setting with the ONDEMAND governor – we’ll see. BTW, I’ve found some more bugs but the bugtracker doesn’t work at the momment. So far this one still looks to be the best CM10.1 made for Gio…

  • omar says:

  • joel says:

    It’s a pity!

  • RJ says:

Hi guys.. im having a problem with the camera, the phone restarts everytime i capture w/ flash.. any solutions? Thanks!

  • mr1uke says:

I installed this ROM on Samsung Ace S5830 with Gapps, everything works just great except of huge battery drain, even when I do nothing with the phone and screen is off.. My suspicion is that it’s caused by mobile network – because when I turn on mobile internet, battery drain is much faster (battery holds only for 2-3 hours). Signal always balances pretty much too. I tried to calibrate the battery. Before installing this ROM everything was fine with the battery. How can I solve this problem please??

  • levhammel2 says:

It’s Works in Galaxy Ace Plus S7500???

  • Greetings.

After install (all wipes done), I can’t find the SIM toolkit APK. I tried with various CM10.x based ROMs and I got the same issue. No problem with CM9 based ones.

    What’s wrong?

  • sebag says:

Rom chodzi bardzo dobrze, bateria wytrzymuje dłużej niż w CM9. Dobra robota 🙂

  • Carlo says:

Downloaded twice but still the archive is corrupted, MD5 don’t match…

  • Piorex says:

Można coś zrobić żeby to naprawić? OK let’s start in English, so my problem is in the pack apps or perhaps i do some thing wrong. I install a CM 10.1 and ofcurse a pack apps from your link – youtube not work. hmm so i do this about 10 times and always that same problem then I try alternative pack but problem was always that same. Hi guys ! Great Job!
    I noticed a BUG
The video camera is fine but when switched to taking still pictures
the screen becomes dark and also the pictures come out to be dark and dull low on color
    and brightness.

Secondly after installing gapps i noticed some lag ,before installing gapps it was preety smooth.

I am not a expert like you all but i have definitely noticed these two thing.
Please look into it and let me know if i am right.
    Thanks.
