CyanogenMod 12.1
New stable release (20160227) of CM12.1 for S3 Mini is available!
Please, test it and report any bugs!
For flashing Lollipop, we recommend you to install our TWRP recovery (available on Download page)!
Do full backup before installation and wipe data/cache (factory reset) after installation if you don’t updating from older CM12.0 release.
You need to perform a wipe if you’re migrating from software different than CM12.0!

Installing the ROM right now. During the procedure, I realized something. The custom binary is 27 acount. I wonder if there is some limit the amount of times you can install roms. I thank those who help me.
Flash TWRP with Odin then download the normal .zip, not the Odin file, on your phone. You can then reboot into recovery and install that zip. This will stop your counter going up.
you can use triangle away app. it is already simple to use. it will make your counter back to 0 again. just like the first day;)

This feels good , to be able to use lollipop on s3 mini which has for sure the basic functionality working.

Performed factory reset, but after installing of this release and OpenGapps Mini, Google Play services keeps crashing. What am I missing?
Turns out that it was caused by previous version of Gapps unintentionally left on device. Performing of factory reset is not enough, when updating from previous (CM11) version, the /system partition also need to be mounted and wiped prior to installation of ROM and GApps.
Issues:
1. When the phone is off and charging, don’t see the animation of the battery charging.
2. It’s impossible to install the official Facebook app (Only the Facebook Lite app works or apk, no Play Store).
3. The app will not move to sd card (I mean the native app2sd, not Link2sd or other)

facebook app – I’m a developer myself and i don’t know what is causing this
app to sd card – this is something google removed from lollipop and cyanogen tried adding back in – but cyanogen doesn’t have a se mini – so it will work on some phones and not on other ones as all phones have different partition locations
luckily google added this back into android – with android 6.0+ marshmallow
how to update from previous release without losing data? just flash through twrp? or odin?
i use twrp. data and settings not losing.
after flashing, install open gapps and supersu.
after install supersu, press button “clear cache and dalvik cache”, and reboot.
First start long – generating dalvik cache
One time i pressed “clear data” in twrp – apps and settings clears, but save my personally data (internal flash not clears), and fully saved sdcard (external flash).
Before flashing make backup setting some apps on sdcard – firewall, phonebook, tasker. And do save application list (i use screenshoots).
Wipe /cache and /dalvik-cache, then just flash the new ZIP. You shouldn’t lose anything.
Even though you won’t lose anything if you do it the way Piggeh is telling you, you should still make a TWRP backup just in case flashing the ROM fails and you soft bricked your device.

I have another big plea: Could you privide us with “step by step” guidelines how to install this version, once we have already installed the previous version (20160210). Is it a complete new install, just as moving from Android 4.1.2 to 5.1.1…?

There do seem to be many random errors and crashes in the Rom, oh well. Anyway, fb does eventually install after many attempts, my phone crashed, rebooted and there it was.
From what I understand you could do a dirty flash, (only clear cache, not all data) but I could be wrong, haven’t tried it yet. I’ll give an update when I do :D.
A dirty install worked fine for me, however do make a nandroid backup beforehand to avoid any issues
Dear NovaFusion. Many intuziasty updated Sony smartphones to version 6.0.1 , and also try to update and other many brands of telephones , but S3 mini rests only on you. I question whether we ( the owners of S3 mini smartphones ) opportunity to try and feel the power and beauty of the whole , Android 6.0.1 operating system in the near future . Same issues that come crawling from previous versions, Offline charging battery display wont work. This issue made me to go to the factory rom. Please solve this and i will be back as soon as i can! Other issues known, facebook app from the play store wont install. Thanks for all the effort nova.

Please Can You Tell Me How Can I Install This ROM By Using Recovery

Using TWRP (a recent release, of course):
1. reboot the S3-mini to Recovery (you should see the TWRP logo)
2. download the ZIP file to your PC
3. connect the S3-mini to the USB of your PC
4. copy the ZIP file to the S3-mini (and remember the location)
5. eject the S3-mini from the PC (safe disconnect USB)
6. tap on the “Install” button (which is in Recovery mode with TWRP running)
7. select the ZIP file and start the installation
8a. if this is the first time you install 12.1. then install the proper GAPPS 5.1 ZIP
8b. if this is the first time you install 12.1 you better “Factory Reset” before Reboot
9. Whip Cache and Dalvik
10. Reboot to System (this is when you quit Recovery mode)
11. Now you should see the CM Logo for a few minutes until it starts “updating all Apps”. This may take LONG, but you should see how it’s counting.
Done!
Another issue: It’s impossible charge the phone when is of because the phone turn on without reason
Try not plugging the phone when you’re turning it off. Once the phone is totally off, plug it. Don’t worry if “nothing visual happens”, it will charge. If, by any chance, it seems that the battery didn’t charge when you turn it back on, then restart.
I do this ever but with this update don’t work

I guess the problem is, that there is not “the” Wi-Fi Direct. There are different standards and some of them probably even licensed. As far as I tried, you cant even connect a nexus 4 to a samsung phone because of that

My mobile data doesn’t work. Tried to wipe and reinstall 5 times with no sucess. Than i went back to 4.4.4 and mobile data worked again. I don’t know what’s happening. Still good work guys

Just saw in others comments that my phone carrier is not working with this release. I’m from Brazil and i use “VIVO”
I had the same problem and i use VIVO too. The way to solve this is creating a new APN by myself. Just search internet the APN config.
What settings did you use?
Hiii… First: THANKS, we’re near to get a clean version. Buuut, i can’t make screenshots, offline charging isn’t working, i can’t root my phone. I got i8190N
Screenshots are power button+volume down… Also offline charging does work although there isn’t an animation, though sometimes a bug does cause it to malfunction
mentioning root: there is a hidden option, whereyou can enable root for apps (and more). Google it.
(I had the same problem coming from 4.4.4; it was a hard thing to find out that solution 😉

Hi there, I have the same issue as above described. Switch of the phone completely. Wait few seconds and plug in. It turns on again. Left the phone plugged, switch it off, I can see for few seconds the round icon when is calculating the battery percentage and it switches itself on again …
Another thing which would be very appreciate is the charging icon battery when off.
I also have a feature request … the MusicPlayer it is very good, but I really miss the possibility of choosing / sorting songs by folder.

How to get root access (e.g. for titanium backup) after flashing this rom?
background: coming from 4.4.4 with root I want to live without play store from now on…
so I have made a TWRP-full-backup (just in case something goes wrong) and also a backup with TitaniumBackup (all apps, system…); both on sd-card.
Now I want to flash ne new custom rom, get root for TB and restore some tools, calendar, sms and so on.
But I’m stuck at getting root:
I’v tried http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu-stable which get’s me to “UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.65-20151226141550.zip” –> in TWRP it reporting “Boot Image: not found, aborting”
any help is appreciated

Mobile data doesn’t work for some Brazilian carriers, such as “Vivo”, and others in latin america. not all of them.
you just have to checked vivo VPN. Surch it on the google. I did that and my mobile data is working now.

Não mano. Tá assim desde de o começo, na 12.1. Ta tudo certinho, com exceção do 3G/2G. Já tentei de tudo mas, não funciona. Acho que são os arquivos de configuração de rede nas pastas do sistema que contém erros.

3rd Anyone has a problem recording voice calls? I installed the CM settings, and i can record voicecalls but the voice of the person I call is really low and mine is clear.
Installed the 20160227 release just yesterday.
Still approx. 2 sec. silence after picking up the phone call and also volume is very low.
No other issues though.

Bluetooth still turns off after a while, and only a reboot can take it back on.
Yes, that is true on mine as well. I wrote this to the forum a couple of times in the past, without any answer. Bluetooth worked in CM11.0 but CM12.1 has this issue since the beginning.
I’m VERY interested in getting a fix or finding a workaround for this problem.

Hello, nobody,nowhere and never can solve offmode charging with CYANOGENMOD roms. Official versions got the same problem. It’s a big big problem for totaly perfect roms. Can anybody solve it? It’s kernel+bootloader bug. CM13 don’t have this bug any more. I have tryed many phone models for this anoyng bug, about 60% phones got it.

It happens sometimes. Unplug the battery and reboot. Repeat, if necessary. Reflash Novafusion ROM. It will jump back to life eventually…

I had this problem but it is because of Google Now is blocking the micro and waiting for you to say “o. K. Google “. You have to disable it in the settings for Language. It shouldn’t work on every screen. Then Skype will work properly again.

That’s normal, it’s lollipop man. 🙂 But still is runs nice on our outdated phones. A Ferrari with a Dacia engine also drives, but not so fast 🙂
Great work Nova!! For those who wants to improve battery performance, i recomend use of Greenify and DisableService apps. Disabling all google play services will improve a lot the perfomance. Now i can use my phone for at least 24hs, with a normal use.
Here is the bug i found.
1 – Sometimes screens hungs. I have to block the screen with the power button, an then when i unlock it, it starts to respond.
The rest seems ok.
