What is USB OTG?
It is a feature that able you to use your mobile phone’s USB as a host device – it means you can use i/o devices, like pendrives, mouses, keyboards, external hard drives and all stuff like that directly from your phone.
What ROM do I need to use USB OTG?
Currently OTG support is available exclusively only in our ROMs. It is supported in every ROM made by us, released after 2014-04-03.
How to use OTG?
- Plug your USB device to USB OTG cable.
- Plug USB OTG cable to your unlocked phone.
- Wait 5-10 seconds for your phone to recognize a new device.
- Use it as always, ignore battery indicator bug.
How to unplug device?
When you want to unplug attached device:
- Unplug USB OTG cable.
- Turn off your phone (press power, select Power Off) as fast as possible to prevent battery drain.
- Your phone will boot again automatically.
Why is it so important to turn your phone off?
OTG support IS NOT STABLE YET! Using it would confuse your phone to think it’s plugged into a charger, SO THE BATTERY WILL KEEP DRAINING if you won’t turn your phone off after it.
Is it safe to use?
It should be safe. However, we don’t recommend to plug in any high power devices like USB fans, lamps, vaccum cleaners or hard drives. S3 Mini hardware is not designed to work with OTG devices.

You maybe need a extra power cable for your HDD to enabled this. Try.

I also have problems with USB OTG with CM12.1. Even with 3rd party software from Google play, I can’t get USB OTG running. On CM11 it worked fine.
Same here, with CM 12.1 OTG does not work. Any hint how to debug this?
I have an OTA adapter that reads SD and Micro SD cards. I am using CM11 (it’s states it’s supported) and I can’t seem to get it working. Is OTA suitable for USB devices only?
Thanks.
Disregard last post.

Thanks.
Goddammit my concentration is really off today. Disregard that post, too. XD
